Pam met Bret Busch while dancing at the club Weekends in Midtown Atlanta. Their mutual attraction and attraction to attracting inspired them to take their well matched voices to the stage.
The first incarnation was named Ramada like the Inn whose motto was "Luxury For Less". This was the inspiration for their approach to songs and experimental medleys. As a duo, they would crash parties all around Atlanta, dressed fabulously in thrifted vintage outfits. Bret wore sharkskin suits and Pam donned cocktail dresses. With Pam's classical guitar as the accompaniment and Bret's feral tambourine and occasional trombone they regularly exceeded all expectations with their unusual interpretations and mashups of jazz standards, Supremes songs and sassed out originals.
They became infamous for being kicked out of clubs: The Stein Club, Little 5 Points Pub (a legendary brunch show performed outside on the square after they were ousted), The Point, Color Box... Why? Every performance pushed the boundaries of the situation they had inserted themselves into. Performance art? Badassery period.
Life separated them for a period in the mid 90s. They came back together reborn with a love of hip hop and fresh songs written together as Ramadamafia with Fatty on beats and drums. This new era found Pam and Bret hosting weekly shows at The Star Bar and in the studio recording with tracks from the Mysterioso Tribe for their debut album Flowish. They ended the period with Fatty producing their holiday EP Icicles and finally, their G.L.O.W. EP.
