Pam and Chris met in Decatur, GA in 1990. Chris answered the door and that was the spark, the meeting of souls that would endure and inspire the rest of her creative and domestic life.
Chris is a multi-instrumentalist who was given the name Fatty because of his fat, low sound on the upright bass. His feel on all instruments (bass, drums, guitar, keyboard) is low, full and in the deepest pocket.
Fatty was born in Atlanta, GA in 1966. He taught himself guitar in 1988 and began writing songs.
With Pam and Emile DeFelice he founded the group Cicada Sings.
In 1994, Fatty studied music at Georgia State University.
He played in jazz groups and ran The Homage Coffee House in downtown Atlanta, which was a home for musicians and artists.
Fatty is a producer. He produced albums for Atlanta bands Guru Fish and Prodigal Son among others.
Eventually, through his fat bass playing, he entered the Atlanta hip hop scene. He began writing beats and producing acts in his home studio.
A mountain life called, and Fatty and Pam moved outside Asheville, NC.
Fatty learned country and bluegrass styles on upright bass and played with Shannon Whitworth.
His latest accomplishment is playing bass and guitar in gypsy jazz bands in Asheville, NC.
He plays upright bass with Saint Disruption
He is working on a new project with Pam called Twyla.
